I’m Not Strange
I am a girl that likes snakes.
I think they are so neat.
Bugs do not creep me out.
I will even dare to pick up a big
black spider.
I am crazy about trees even though
I am allergic.
As a child I hugged trees and talked to
them.
I adore cats and like to hug them.
I used to kiss my cat on top of the head
and hold conversations with her.
I am a adult that never outgrew the habit
of dunking my cookies in milk.
I sometimes dip my grilled cheese in
mustard.
I like to eat maraschino cherries straight
out of the jar.
I even drink the juice.
I like pickle juice.
It sometimes clears the passageways.
Water is my favorite drink.
I suck it down with relish.
I like gravy on my fries but not on my
mashed potatoes.
I collect teddy bears.
Over 140 bears grace my room.
I like Garfield the cat.
I always cut the comics out of the
newspapers.
I have many Garfield items.
I prefer Macintosh computers.
My ibook is my favorite possession.
I am obsessed with reading.
A visit to the library brings home twelve
books or more.
I like to paint my fingernails different
colors.
Over seventy colors of fingernail polish
are lined up inside my vanity.
I am crazy for leopard print.
Any article of clothing or item with
leopard spots I grab.
I go crazy for leather.
Even when it is not in fashion.
My old black leather jacket is my favorite
article of clothing.
I have a skirt that is neon green.
I do not care if you laugh.
One of my favorite shirts.
Is my rainbow striped tee shirt.
I have received compliments on it.
I am afraid of magnified mirrors.
I had a dream once that I looked into a
magnified mirror and my face was the
size of a house.
I pick up pennies off the sidewalk when
I see them.
I grew up poor and I think throwing away
pennies is a waste.
If you mock my choices or what I like.
It will not prevent me from liking myself
as a person.
I’m not strange.
I’m only different.
Is it a sin to be different?
